There’s nothing like a “mountain” girl taking a beach vacation to awaken the senses. While spending six days in a gulf coast resort, my soul was refreshed with a heightened awareness of God’s presence. I experienced blue skies, cloudy skies, sunsets, heavy rain showers, Dolphins, starfish, big rocks to climb, seashells, calm waters, and powerful waves all from a front roll seat in a cabana or a walk down the shore.
The turquoise waves rolled onto the sandy shore, soaking my sun-scorched feet with a cool touch from I AM.
The smell of the Islands mixed with marine life pierced the air and the fragrance of Christ permeated my soul.
The sounds of laughter, distant music, and the ocean’s fierce roar vibrated around me. I gazed into the vast expanse of sea; I united with the Lion of Judah.
The water surrounded me, as the Spirit took me deeper. The healing taste of salt upon my lips brought forth praise, as I drank in all of His goodness.
This week let’s “give into” a retreat day. Soak in the verses and experience your surroundings intentionally. Let your praise flow out!
“Drink deeply of the pleasures of this God. Experience for yourself the joyous mercies he gives to all who turn to hide in him. Worship in awe and wonder, all you who’ve been made holy! For all who fear him will feast with plenty.”
Psalms 34:8-9 TPT
** Most translations in Psalm 34:8 says “taste and see”. The Greek word used means to drink deeply.
