The Weight of Glory
Updated: Feb 9
How do we prepare ourselves to suffer without losing heart? Wouldn’t this be a good leadership summit theme? I am not certain anybody would sign up for this kind of training; however, yielding our hearts to this kind of loyalty is exactly what brings forth the Glory of God!! All of creation is waiting for the sons and daughters of God to be REVEALED IN POWER!
“So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NRSV
“Through our faith, the mighty power of God constantly guards us until our full salvation is ready to be revealed in the last time. May the thought of this cause you to jump for joy, even though lately you’ve had to put up with the grief of many trials. But these only reveal the sterling core of your faith, which is far more valuable than gold that perishes, for even gold is refined by fire. Your authentic faith will result in even more praise, glory, and honor when Jesus the Anointed One is revealed.”
1 Peter 1:5-7 TPT
“Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!”
Colossians 1:27 TPT
“I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us.”
Romans 8:18 NRSV
After meditating on these verses, I have come to realize, I have spent too many hours focusing on “getting people to heaven” and too few hours focused on bringing heaven to earth! We are vessels of glory, and the unveiling comes through patient endurance.
Father, open our eyes to see Your perfect plan of salvation and help us patiently endure suffering while loving one another all the more. Show us Your beautiful mysteries, so we can bring honor to Your name. Let us count the cost, believing our death (to self) will bring life to many! Let us walk in signs and wonders. Let us heal the sick and brokenhearted. Let us cast out demons. Reveal Your glory Lord, that the world may honor Your name. Amen
